Incentives Package for Businesses Northern Vermont Composting Partnership
Business Incentives
Free hauling and tipping fees for 3 months-- supported by the NVCP grant as well as the Central Vermont Solid Waste Management District or the Northeast Kingdom Waste Management District.
During the incentive period The Highfields Institute and the regional waste management district will work with your business to renegotiate its trash contract. In preparation for negotiations we will track the volume of food scraps your business is diverting and create a waste management cost assessment. While the potential exists to see cost savings in a larger business, in a smaller one we will be striving to make the program cost neutral.
After the incentive period is over program fees are:
$2.oo per tote
$5.oo every time the truck stops at your site
$30.00 per ton tipping fee at composting site ($ 3.30 per tote—each tote generally weighs 220 pounds) The Tipping fee will be prorated for half full totes.
